Websites for plumbers & heating engineers

Websites for plumbers built around the call-out, the boiler quote and the Gas Safe check

The agency at the top of Google for 'websites for plumbers' leads with a price and never mentions Gas Safe. Your customers do: for anything on gas they are told to check the register, Google lists 'WaterSafe approved plumbers near me' beside searches for plumbing websites, and a burst pipe is still searched from the kitchen with the water running. So the plumbing websites we build start from those facts — your registration number and approved-plumber status beside a number they can tap from the first screen, a page for each job you want more of, and photos of you, the van and the boilers you have fitted. It's yours outright: domain, content and the site itself.

Why a generic site lets you down

What a plumber's customers actually do

  • They ring from the kitchen with the water still running

A burst pipe or no hot water gets searched on a phone, standing next to the problem, and the homeowner is not reading: they want to know you cover their town tonight and how to ring you. If the first screen is a gallery of bathrooms, or the number only lives on a contact page, they have rung someone else before your site has finished loading. 'All plumbing work undertaken' tells them nothing about whether you will come out at ten o'clock.

  • They look for 'approved' and 'Gas Safe' before they book

Beside searches for plumbers' websites, Google lists 'WaterSafe approved plumbers near me' and 'Thames Water approved plumbers', and the WaterSafe register itself sits in the results. For anything on gas, homeowners are told to check the Gas Safe register, and the careful ones do. If your registration number and approved-plumber status aren't on the site with a link to the register, you're the one they hesitate over, even though you're fully registered.

  • They compare boiler quotes over days, and reviews decide it

A boiler replacement costs enough that they get more than one quote, read the reviews of each firm, look at what you've fitted before and want to know which brands you install. A single page with a van photo and a mobile number gives them nothing to compare and nothing to trust, so the job goes to the firm that showed its work.

Built for the trade

What we build into every plumber website

  • Your number at the top of every screen

Emergency work is won on a mobile, so the number sits in the header of every page, one tap away, with WhatsApp beside it if you use it. Pages are built light enough to load on a patchy signal, because that's where the 11pm call comes from.

  • An emergency page that says what happens next

The hours you genuinely cover, the areas you'll reach tonight, what a call-out costs and what they should do while they wait: stopcock off, boiler off. It stops a panicking customer scrolling on to the next result, and it only promises a 24-hour line if you actually run one.

  • A page for each job you want more of, and the towns you do it in

Boiler installation, boiler repair and servicing, bathrooms, leaks and burst pipes, blocked drains, landlord gas safety certificates — each on its own page, written the way a homeowner describes the problem, with the areas you cover stated plainly. The landlord certificate page is written for a letting agent booking ten flats, the boiler page for a homeowner with three quotes on the table, and neither reads like the other.

  • Gas Safe and WaterSafe next to the phone number, linked to the register

Your Gas Safe registration number sits beside your number, not in the small print, with a link to the official register so the homeowner can check it in seconds. WaterSafe or WIAPS approval, CIPHE or APHC membership, OFTEC if you do oil and any manufacturer accreditation you hold get the same treatment, and your public liability cover is stated plainly.

  • A boiler quote form that asks the right questions

Current boiler type and where it is, fuel, number of bathrooms, photos of the boiler and the flue, postcode and how soon they need it. It emails you and keeps a record, so you can price the job from the van instead of ringing back for the basics.

  • Real photos, real reviews and the brands you fit

A photo of you and the van, because homeowners want proof the business exists before they let you in. Your Google reviews shown beside each service, photos of installs you've done, and the boiler brands you fit. The customer with three quotes on the table chooses on trust, and this is where they find it.

Heating engineers and plumbing & heating firms

If most of your turnover is boilers, the site should say so. Installation, repair, servicing and landlord gas safety certificates each get their own page, your Gas Safe registration and any manufacturer accreditation sit at the top, and the boiler quote form does the qualifying for you. Breakdown work arrives with the cold weather, so the 'no heating, no hot water' page is written to be found and rung from a phone in a cold kitchen. Oil-fired work, OFTEC registration and unvented cylinder qualifications go in the same place.

Getting found locally

When someone types 'emergency plumber near me' or 'boiler repair' plus their town, Google shows three map results first and the organic listings underneath, and the phone call goes to one of them. Getting into either takes a Google Business Profile set up as a plumber and heating contractor, a steady run of reviews that name the jobs you do, and a site with a real page for each service and each area you cover. What we build covers that last part properly; the monthly work of ranking it for your towns is a separate service.

Questions

Plumbers ask us

How much does a plumbing website cost?

It depends on how many services and areas need their own page and who looks after hosting and care afterwards, so the price is fixed and the scope is written down before you pay anything; our packages page lists what each one includes. For comparison, the top result for 'websites for plumbers' sells a single-page site from £497 plus VAT, with extra pages at £250 plus VAT each and no mention of Gas Safe anywhere on it (checked 28 August 2026). Our cost guide goes through what the UK market charges for a trade website and why a one-page price rarely stays a one-page price.

How to create a plumbing website?

Begin with the work you want more of and the areas you cover; that decides the pages. Then get the essentials right: a tappable number at the top, one page per service, your Gas Safe number with a link to the register, your Google reviews, and a quote form asking for photos and a postcode. You can do that yourself on a template builder if you have the evenings for it; we build it for you on a domain you own and hand over the keys.

What are the best plumbing websites in the UK?

The best ones aren't the prettiest. They make it obvious in one screen who you are, where you work, that you're Gas Safe registered and how to ring you, and they give the boiler work a proper page rather than a paragraph. SC Plumbing & Heating in Liverpool, shown above, is a live plumbing and heating site built by JW Digital Services Ltd, which operates Websites for Tradespeople; look at how it handles those things.

What is the best website builder for plumbers?

A template builder such as Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy works if you have the time to write it, organise it and keep it updated, and you're happy renting hosting that isn't yours. Free plumber templates and Figma files give you the look, not the words, the service structure or anywhere sensible to show your Gas Safe registration. We build on a code base you own outright, on your own domain, which is the part template sites never mention.

Do you build plumbing and heating websites, or just plumbing?

Both. A plumbing and heating site is the same build with the weight shifted to boiler installation, servicing, repair and landlord certificates, and the Gas Safe registration displayed prominently. If you're OFTEC-registered for oil, that goes in the same place.

I want more boiler installs and fewer tap washers. Can the site steer the work?

Yes, within limits. The site can put boiler installation, servicing and repair front and centre, give each its own page with the brands you fit and photos of recent installs, and make the boiler quote form the main call to action rather than the phone. It can't stop someone ringing about a dripping tap, but it does mean the homeowner with an old boiler and three quotes to collect finds a page written for them.
