Who you are dealing with
Websites for Tradespeople is operated by JW Digital Services Ltd. JW Digital Services Ltd is registered in England & Wales, company number 15243830, registered office 266 Altrincham Road, Manchester, M22 4AA. "We", "us" and "our" mean JW Digital Services Ltd. These terms cover your use of this website and set out the basis on which we quote for work. The contract for any project is the written quote you accept, read together with these terms; if they conflict, the quote wins.
Using this website
The content on this site is general information for UK trade businesses, not professional advice. Prices, fees and features of third-party platforms (directories, lead services, hosting providers) are quoted with the date we checked them and may have changed since. We link to client sites and other websites for reference; we are not responsible for their content.
You may not use the enquiry form to send unsolicited marketing, automated submissions or anything unlawful. We may block submissions that our spam checks reject.
Quotes and pricing
- Every project is quoted as a fixed price for a fixed, written scope, with a timescale. The quote is valid for 30 days.
- Work starts when you accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit stated in it. The balance is due before the site goes live unless the quote says otherwise.
- If you ask for something outside the written scope we will tell you before doing it, and quote it separately in writing. We do not add extras to an invoice unannounced.
- Where a package is described on this site as "from" a price, the exact price is confirmed in your quote before you commit.
What you provide
Timescales assume you supply the details, photos, logos, accreditation numbers and approvals we ask for within the times set out in the quote. Delays on your side move the timescale; they do not change the price. You confirm that anything you give us to publish (photos, reviews, text, logos) is yours to use or that you have permission to use it.
Ownership
- Your domain name is registered in your name and remains yours.
- On payment in full, the website, its design, its text and its images are yours. We keep the right to reuse our own underlying code, tools and templates on other projects, and to show your site as an example of our work unless you ask us not to.
- If you use an optional hosting and care plan or SEO service, you can cancel at the end of any paid month. Cancelling does not remove your site or your content; we will help you move it if you want to.
- Third-party licences (fonts, stock images, plugins) are subject to their own terms, which we will tell you about where they apply.
Hosting, care and SEO
Hosting and care plans cover the items listed in your quote (typically hosting, backups, software updates, security monitoring and a set allowance of small changes). They are billed monthly in advance. We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service; where a fault is with a hosting provider we will chase it on your behalf.
SEO work is described month by month in your quote. Search engines control rankings, not us: we do not guarantee any position, any amount of traffic or any number of leads, and we will not work with anyone who asks us to use tactics that breach search-engine guidelines.
Reviews and testimonials
We only publish reviews and testimonials with the permission of the person who gave them, and we never write them ourselves.
Liability
We are responsible for doing the work in the quote with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for loss of business, profit or data arising from your use of the website or from the acts of third parties (including hosting, domain, directory and search-engine providers), except where the law does not allow us to exclude it. Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Ending a project
Either of us can end a project in writing. If you end it, work completed to that date is payable and the deposit is non-refundable once work has started. If we end it for reasons that are not your fault, we refund any payment for work not done.
Law
These terms and any contract with us are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
